Basketball - Boys Junior Varsity vs. The Williston Northampton School

Event Type: Regular

Date: December 7, 2013

Score:Berkshire 42 - Williston 39

Event Recap:
The JV Basketball team won their home opener 42 - 39 in a hard fought game against Williston. After scoring five points almost immediately, Berkshire struggled to put in the ball in the hoop as Williston sat back in their 2-3 zone. As it was the first game for both teams, the play was sloppy at times with both squads committing numerous turnovers. Both teams played hard, and at the end of the day, rebounds were equal and both teams were in the bonus.
All Berkshire players saw action today with Lewis Grassie leading the way with 15 points. Max Way hit a huge three-pointer to tie the game late, and Matt Licata made two key free throws to put us ahead. Brian Rodriguez, Sean Speegle, and Kevin Crabtree did a nice job on the boards, while Jack Scarafoni did a great job leading the offense at the point guard position. Our transition game was sparked by Milton Martinez who plays with great enthusiasm. Ehan Keator had a great game defensively, and was inserted into the game late to help put pressure on the Williston offense. Patrick Frey and Terryl Wilson contributed solid minutes as both made their debut for the JV team.
Up next is Salisbury on Wednesday.
