The Bears lost to Avon 51 - 39 after leading at halftime 22 - 21.
Berkshire shot the ball exceptionally well in the first half and created many transition opportunities for easy baskets. Momentum was on Berkshire's side as we entered the break. In the second half however, the Bears ran out of gas. Playing with a shortened bench, our legs got tired and we started missing easy baskets. Avon applied a full court press which compounded the problem as we were forced to keep our limited number of ball handlers on the floor.
Will Fortenbaugh played his best game to date and led the team in scoring. He also made several fantastic passes, picking apart the Avon press. Nim Farhood continues to get to the basket and was able to create several scoring opportunities in transition. Djetry Joseph and Colin Fuss played well, rebounded down low and hit some key shots. Creedy Acosta pushed the ball in transition and played great defense against a very good point guard.
The Bears look to rebound Monday afternoon as they travel to Hotchkiss.
