The Bears traveled down the road to Simsbury, CT to face Westminster in the team's third game of the season. Both teams started slow as the Bears held a 2-0 lead for the first five minutes of the game. Westminster caught fire after that, racing off to a 15-point lead. The Bear regrouped at halftime and came out looking to even the score. Rye Marrahit three big 3-pointers to cut the Westminster lead to 10 half way through the second half. Leading scorer Ras Steinrueck led the way with 10 points and numerous big rebounds. Justin Donawa was a one man press as he harassed the Westminster players into numerous turnovers. The Bears got within three with a minute to go, but Westminster was able to pull away at the end for a 39-31 victory. The loss puts the Bears' record at 2-1 for the season. Avon is up next for the Bears this Saturday.
