The Boys Thirds Basketball team began the New Year with a 48-30 victory over Williston Northhampton. The victory moved the team to 2-0 after an earlier victory over Salisbury. The team had only two quick practices before game day to prepare for the contest, but that did not prevent the Bears from playing hard from the start. Down three players that were sidelined with illness and injury, the remaining nine fought hard from the tip off. Patrick Frey hit some key three-pointers as Williston tried to play zone, and players like Rye Marra and Haden Cosman provided intensity to the game with their hard work on both ends of the court. Ras Steinreuck led the way with 20 points and numerous hustle plays. Although Williston tried at times to inch back into the game, the Bears pulled ahaed by late in the second half to claim the victory. The team next heads to Westminster for their third game of the young season. Congrats to the Bears.
