So close! The Bears concluded our month-long road trip with a southern visit to Kent and to what has become an annual battle between the two squads. The first half of this year's home-and-home did not disappoint as the team match came down to the final game at #2 between Berkshire's Henry Thomasand his Kent opponent. The team match was all-square at 3-3 with Bao Nguyen(#5), Will Aldam (#6), and freshman phenom Brian Rodriguez (#7) posting early wins for the Bears. Thomas battled gamely, and both sides cheered valiantly from the viewing stands court three, but the Bears could not prevail, losing 3-4 in the season's closest match to date.
The good news is that we'll host Kent to close out the season at home later this month in what is sure to be a timely chance to avenge today's tight loss. Friday (2/8) brings Salisbury back to Berkshire if the forecasted Nor'easter allows, and then it's back on the road at Hotchkiss for a 2:00 PM match on Saturday (2/9).
