Event Recap: The Bears headed south along the Taconic Range to take on local rival Salisbury in an off-day contest on Thursday. Berkshire fell 2-5 in another well-played match against a stronger side, but the effort was not without some great highlights. Noah Arin and Yanno Fernandez at #5 and #7, respectively, earned their first JV victory, with both notching convincing 3-0 wins. The gritty Fernandez then returned to the court for an exhibition match at #9 and gutted out a 5-game win to cap a very busy day on the courts. Jimmy Chung (#2), his conditioning returning to form, lost a close match against a veteran opponent, and Brian Rodriguez (#6) lost perhaps the match-of-the-day with games of 12-14, 11-9, 9-11, 11-9, and 8-11! The boys' long week on the road continues this Saturday with a trip to Suffield (2:30) after which the Snowball Dance on Saturday night should see some battle-tested JV squashers wearily grooving to Miles From Home. Deep rails and straight drops! |
