Hockey - Boys Thirds vs. Kent School

Event Type: Regular

Date: January 29, 2014

Score:Berkshire 4 - Kent 2

Event Recap:

In the last game before the All-Star break, the Berkshire Varsity 3rds team was looking to put forth a solid effort against the battle-tested team from Kent. And the Bears did delivery! Determination, sweat, and energy from the first to the last shift produced a quality win for the Bears, as did taking only one penalty during the entire game!

Alden “I’m faster than Usain” Boldt led off the scoring with a stick-side, upper-corner snipe from the top of the circle to even the score at 1-1 in the first period.  Eric “the pride of Calgary” Smith with the apple on the first goal. Brendan “toe-drag” Moloy received a wicked nice wheel-pass from James “Don Donny” Donovan and, with a backhand that slide five hole through the keeper’s wickets, helped the Bears even the score again at 2-2 midway through the second period. From that point on, it was all effort and Bears. Jay “Late Night Show” Allen with a wrister to the left corner pocket put the Bears up 3-2 at the end of the middle frame. Moloy finished off the scoring for the Bears on the afternoon with a beautiful finish from the Smith midway through the third period. It was good day for the Bears, whose social lives continue to improve.

Berkshire wins 4-2. Next up for the Bears, some team from the Salisbury area after the break.
