Captains: Maisie Noesen and Chase Gerber
Girls Squash Inquiry Form
Girls' squash has a strong tradition at Berkshire School, and a number of recent graduates have gone on to success at the college level, especially in NESCAC play: Courtney Kollmer '06 at Hamilton; Emily Russell '07 at Bates; Allie Hibbs '09 at Conn College; and Maddie Hunsicker '11 at Colby.
The Lady Bears ended the 2011-2012 campaign on a note of triumph, finishing 9th at the New England tournament, up six places from the year before, and bringing home the Team Sportsmanship award for the second straight season. We compete against many peer schools in western New England, including perennial rivals Millbrook, Canterbury, Williston, Suffield and Hotchkiss. In addition to our demanding interscholastic schedule, we play at least one team tournament during the season and culminate with the NEISA championships.
This year's team anticipates dedicated leadership from sixth form co-captains Maisie Noesen and Chase Gerber, drawing strength from an established fifth form core: Michaelann Denton, Edeline Loh, Serena Menges and Allie Brazo. Four newcomers, Clementina Davila Tejeida '14, Olivia Silverman and Chelsea Leeds '15 and Alexis Rivera '16, will contribute depth to the ladder and push the returning players for starting spots.
With lots of energy around the sport and an athletic crop of new players, the Bears are poised for continuing success on the squash courts.
