Event Recap:The Bears came close to earning their second victory of the season today. Our top two faced stiff competition. Both Sam Lewis '14 and Sam Perkins '14 played strong second games but lost 11-13 and 10-12 respectively. # 3 Jack Harrison '15 struggled to keep his opponent on the defensive and ended up working hard to cover all four corners. He ultimately fell in three. #7 Liam Bullock '17 stepped up from his #8 position to cover for a sick Noah Wilson '15. Liam faced an old teammate from middle school and never seemed to really find his stride. He took the first game but couldn't consistently find his shots and lost 1-3. Despite the loss, #'s 4-6 provided some big wins for the Bears. #6 Peter Hover '14 and #5 Tyler Morse '17 both won in three after forcing their opponents to make errors. #4 George Fowlkes was locked in a battle with his opponent but after conceding the fourth 8-11, found his width and length and won the fifth 11-2. While it would have been nice to earn a victory, the Bears showed some heart today and played some very close matches. It looks like we'll have another close game on Wednesday as we prepare to face the Canterbury Saints.
