With fire in their eyes and the playoffs on their minds, the Berkshire Bears came out firing on Saturday afternoon and never looked back. The Bears set the tone early against the Titans of Wilbraham Monson, who struggled all day to find an answer to the pestering defense and hot shooting hands courtesy of the Bears.
Samone DeFreese ’15 had her way in the paint, scoring 23 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Kristalyn Baisden ’15 had one of her more dominating performances of the season, scoring 18 points and adding three steals and three assists. Hannah Cooke ’14 was the third Bear in double figures with 15 points; she also had six assists, four steals, and a season-high three blocks. Olivia Smith ’14 had two big post moves and a three for seven points, while Cam Biasin ’14 crashed the boards and had nine rebounds. Francesca Ghi ’14 and Emmi Graebner ’14 came in off the bench with energy and passion, and they made sure the Bears didn’t skip a beat when they relieved the starters. Graebner had three steals and three assists.
Overall, the Bears kept the ball moving, ran the floor, and hit shots. With a final score of 69-47, the Bears not only improved their record but also made great strides heading into the final week of the season.
