Berkshire went to Westminster Saturday evening in hopes of turning things around after losing a close game to Choate Wednesday. The games with Westminster over the years have always been battles and tend to be action packed until the finals seconds. Berkshire continued their strong play and after three periods and five minutes of overtime, the two teams would walk away with a 1-1 tie.
Defensively the Bears had their best game of the year. They were filling up lanes with strong backchecks, closing the gap early and moving the puck well. Jamie Ernst '15 had another great game in goal for Berkshire and made several key saves a period.
Berkshire got on the board first with 10:22 remaining in the third. Erin Dillon '17 drove in wide to the left of the goalie and sent a shot off the goalie's left pad. The rebound kicked out and Renee Dreher '15 put it in the back of the net. Westminster tied things up 50 seconds later to end the scoring for the game.
Berkshire had a great chance in the final seconds of the game when a Berkshire forward found themselves alone in front with a quick low shot, but Westminster's goalie got the pads down to make the save and force the tie. The game had a lot of back and forth action and was certainly an exciting one.
