Event Recap:

After a hard-fought win at Deerfield on Monday, the Bears were ready to continue their wining streak against a top-ranked Choate on Wednesday afternoon. The first period saw some of the most sustained offense the Bears have been able to produce all season. But, it was Choate who lit the lamp first with a little under three minutes into the game. Putting lots of traffic in front of the net, they were able to pass another by Jeanne Morin while on a power play three minutes later. But the Bears came back flying. In a beautiful power play shot from the point, Bella Singsigalli found the top right corner, reducing the lead to one. Two minutes later, it was her defensive partner who lit the lamp. In her first goal of her Berkshire career, Ronnie Lortie put another power play goal beyond the Choate goalie. Twenty seconds later, Choate answered back, once again taking the lead. Not yet prepared to be written off, with just about four minutes left, Kate Klimaszewski lit the lamp for the final time of the period. When the clock read zero, the score was tied at three.

The second period did not go according to the Bears plan. With legs not totally recovered from Monday's match up, the Bears slowed down in the second. A fast and talented Choate team took advantage. Stretching the ice, they were able to find the seams and get to the net with odd-man rushes. Fifteen minutes after taking the ice, the Bears found themselves down by a score of 6-3.

The Bears came back with renewed drive in the third. They tried to put together offense, but after the first five minutes found themselves in the box for the majority of the last two thirds of the period. As the game got more and more physical in the final minutes, the Bears were unable to fend of Choate and they slipped another one by with only nine seconds on the clock.

The Bears look to avenge their loss when they take on Westminster at home on Saturday afternoon.
