The Bears dropped another tough game on Wednesday night. Coming off of a loss to Loomis, the Bears took to the ice Wednesday with energy and excitement. Despite a strong first few minutes of the period, at 11:40, Williston was able to slip one by. Undeterred, Berkshire went at Williston with new resolve. Only two minutes later, Alli Sugar lit the lamp after banging home a beautiful cross from Bella Sinsigalli. The rest of the period was hard fought, with both sides seeing good scoring opportunities. With just three minutes left in the period, Williston was able to split our defense and put another one in.
The second period brought on a barrage of shots from Williston. Taking advantage of a string of Berkshire penalties, Williston was able to put in three quick goals. With nine minutes left in the second, Berkshire found itself down 5-2. But the Bears came back, on the power play Olivia Good made an excellent step on our offensive blue line, stripping a Williston player and getting a shot on net. Rhi Vanderbeek was waiting on the doorstep and put the rebound in five-hole.
After the break, the Bears came back at Williston. Putting eight shots on net, the Bears worked for their offensive opportunities. While the fore check produced good looks at the Williston net, Berkshire was unable to chip away at the lead and the game ended at 5-2.
The Bears look to snap their losing streak at Nobles at 4pm on Wednesday afternoon.
