Hockey - Boys Varsity vs. Kent School

Event Type: Regular

Date: February 6, 2013

Score:1 - 0

Event Recap:

The Bears traveled this afternoon to play against the Kent Lions. The sizable crowd on hand was treated to a tight checking and well played prep hockey game. Berkshire was able to eke out a victory with good team defense and stellar goaltending from Tim Ernst '13. The lone tally in the game was created by a strong play on the wall by Henry Manley '15 who chipped the puck from the defensive zone to Barclay Gammill '16. Gammill made a nice cut across the blue line as he gained the offensive zone and fired a hard low shot on the net. The Kent netminder was able to stop the Gammill wrister, but Jake Sontag '14 was streaking to the net and made no mistake on the rebound. This first period would hold up to be the difference in the game.

Berkshire played one of its most well rounded overall games this season to earn the victory. The Bears will look to build on this win when they travel to Governor's on Saturday.
