The Berkshire Bears faced off against the Millbrook Mustangs on Monday evening at the Jackman Stewart Athletic Center. Fans on hand were treated to a well-played display of prep school hockey. Both teams played well in what was a hard-fought and closely contested game. The two clubs exchanged chances in a fast paced first period. Both teams seemed to be feeling each other out in the opening stanza. It wasn't until the second period that Berkshire was able to break the scoreless tie when Matt Renzi '13 was able to find the back of the net while the Bears were on the power play. Nate Summers '14 added another goal less than two minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0. It was in this second period that the Bears played some of their most disciplined and high tempo hockey. It was fun to watch. This same style of play continued into the third as Millbrook looked to answer and wasn't able to tally a goal until they scored in the final minute with their goalie pulled. This made for some late game drama, but the Bears regrouped and sealed the victory. It was a nice with for Berkshire against a talented and well coached Millbrook squad.
The Bears are back in action Wednesday when they travel to NMH.
