Tennis - Girls Junior Varsity vs. Millbrook School

Event Type: Regular

Date: May 1, 2013

Score:6 - 1

Event Recap:

It was a spectacularly sunny and warm day, when the Bears went to Millbrook and got another win under their belt (6-1).  Maisie Noesen ’13 met a solid opponent, but as I have come to expect, Maisie played determinedly and confidently and won 8-1. Blake Pollizi ’14 stayed focused throughout the match, and used a variety of shots to win her match (8-3). Alli Bliven ’13 had moments of frustration, but managed to reign her emotions in and won (8-3). Caroline Welch ’15 played very well and was on her way to a clean win, but her opponent unfortunately had to pull out of the match prematurely due to illness (6-0). On the indoor courts Serena Menges ’14 and Hattie Waldron ’13 had a difficult time adjusting, and made many unforced errors which ultimately made them lose the match (8-5). Mena Lascurain ’13 and Sophie Needles ’16 were in sync again and won (8-4). Playing together for the first time, Catherine Xu ’14 and Savanna Fortgang ’16 proved to be a good combo, and won the longest match of the day (8-4). We look forward to welcoming Kent on Saturday.
