Lacrosse - Girls Varsity vs. The Williston Northampton School

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 12, 2014

Event Recap:
On a beautiful spring day, Berkshire traveled to Williston today to face perennial Class B rivals.  The Bears were slow to get going and got completely rattled in the first half as Williston applied relentless pressure in the midfield.  In fact, Williston possessed the ball for the majority of the half.  Despite, their dominance, Ana Alvarenga '15 in net held Williston to 7 goals.  The Bears lone goal of the half came from Sophia Peluso '16 off of a free position.  Charging into the second half with a 7-1 defecit, the Bears roared onto the field anew.  They adjusted their transition and moved the ball quickly through the midfield, thwarting the Williston ride.  Berkshire began to chip away at Williston's lead, bringing the game within two at 8-6.  This comeback was a true team effort as five different players scored.  However, an unfortunate turnover in our offensive end resulted in a Williston posession, and they took the ball down field to preserve the win.  The Bears will focus on playing their game for a full fifty minutes in order to prepare for a big road trip to Greenwich Academy on Wednesday.
