Lacrosse - Girls Varsity vs. The Williston Northampton School

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 13, 2013

Score:2 - 10

Event Recap:

Williston came to town with an extremely talented squad who rattled the Berkshire girls from the first whistle.  Their attack was meticulous, picking apart our defense, and despite some excellent saves by goaltender Britt Brown '13, the Wildcats scored five unanswered goals.  Allie McErlean '15 and Syd Beldock '15 scored two quick goals towards the end of the first half but that would be the end of the Bears' offensive pressure.

During the second half, Williston continued to win the draw and possessed the ball with poise in their attacking end.  Their midfield ride proved too much for the Bears to handle as they would stifle Berkshire chances with tenacious pressure.  Sandra Stephan '15 and Amelia Patsalos-Fox '14 played with heart and determination in the midfield, winning some key 50/50 balls, but their efforts were not enough to bolster a shell-shocked Berkshire squad.

The team will practice with renewed intensity on Monday and Tuesday in order to prepare for Wednesday's battle against Greenwich Academy.
