Lacrosse - Boys Varsity vs. The Loomis Chaffee School

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 12, 2014

Event Recap:

Berkshire came into their game against Loomis with a lot to prove.  A stomach virus was ripping through the team sidelining some key players and some younger guys were going to have to step up if the Bears were going to have success against a tough Loomis team.  On top of that, Berkshire was trying to break a three game losing streak.  Berkshire opened up a 3-0 lead on goals from junior Noah Arin, and seniors Regan Haas and Cooper Fersen. Loomis did make a comeback and Berkshire entered halftime up 6-4 after two goals from Sam Merritt and one from Jimmy McKee.

The second half was going to be difficult due to the heat and the lack of numbers but the third quarter belonged to the Bears as they ripped off 5 goals (3 of which were scored by sophomore Connor Waldron, as well as seniors Mitchell Andres and Regan Haas).

Loomis did a great job making a great comeback in the 4th quarter but Sam Merritt added his third goal of the game and the defense and goalie Dillon Cunningham held strong and the Bears went on to a 12-10 win. Berkshire heads down to Hotchkiss on Friday and looks to build on this win.
