Lacrosse - Boys Varsity
The Boys Lacrosse program at Berkshire began a new era in 2010. After winning its fourth consecutive Western New England Secondary School Lacrosse Association (WNESSLA) Division II championship in 2009, the Bears made the move to Division I. The move allowed Berkshire to play against the top competition in New England, and in 2013 the Bears continued to play well in one of the best leagues in the country, finishing impressive with wins over schools such as Westminster, Kent, and Northfield Mount Hermon.
As part of the preparation for the season, the team participates in an annual spring trip through 3D Lacrosse in St. Petersburg, Florida. This year, Berkshire had the opportunity to play against Episcopal (VA), The Peddie School (NJ), Anderson (TX), and Woodberry Forest (VA) before heading home to start league competition.
While Berkshire lost some important seniors who did a great job leading the way, the future is bright for the lacrosse program as it returns four of its five key defensemen and four of its top six midfielders. Combine this with the new talent, and the 2014 Berkshire lacrosse team is ready to make another strong run in this demanding and exciting league.
