Lacrosse - Boys Varsity
vs. Trinity Pawling
|Date:||April 27, 2013|
|Score:||5 - 8|
Berkshire travelled to Trinity Pawling on a beautiful spring day to take on a challenging league opponent. T.P. was able to gain a 2-0 advantage early in the game and you could sense that this was going to be a physical defensive struggle. To Berkshire’s credit, they responded by outscoring TP 2-1 in the second quarter when Michael Allen received a passed from Sam Woodcock and put it in the back of the net and Robbie Fiamengo blew by his man for goal and they went into halftime trailing by one.
The second half saw some more back and forth action as TP scored the first two goals of the half only to have Berkshire come firing back to score three unanswered to tie the game at five going into the fourth quarter (Robbie Fiamengo put in his second, while Sam Woodcock got on the board when he received a pass from Charlie Corcoran and put in the back of the net, then gave some love to Michael Allen for his second goal of the game).
TP scored two minutes into the fourth quarter and then both offenses had a hard time scoring. Berkshire had many great opportunities but could not put them away. Finally, Berkshire was forced to extend out and take chances on defense and TP took advantage of the situation and added two goals in the final two minutes to win the game 8-5. The Bears were led by a great performance from senior goaltender Tyler Behring who had 15 saves on the day. It was a good effort but the Bears have to find a way to win a few more of these tight games.
