Golf - Coed
The Berkshire School golf team takes full advantage of a home course as beautiful as Wyantenuck Country Club in nearby Great Barrington.
Founded in 1896, WCC offers a challenging lay out with small undulating greens and fairways. It is a great test of golf as the players must learn to hit all of the shots in their bag along while being tested in all areas of the mental aspects of the game. WCC is not a course where “grip it and rip it” applies, which is just one of the reasons why Berkshire golfers love having Wyantenuck as their home course.
Berkshire competes in as many tri and quad matches as the spring season will allow (many of them on our home courses as other schools love Wyantenuck too!) and the season ends with the Kingswood Invitational, golf’s New England Championship.
Each match is medal play to mirror the college game and several graduates of the Berkshire golf program have gone on to play at the next level in college. The most important fact about Berkshire’s golf program though is that golfers of all levels of ability have been taught many valuable life lessons while teeing it up at Wyantenuck. It is truly a great way to spend the spring season here at Berkshire.
