Crew - Boys Varsity

The Berkshire Boys’ Crew team eagerly looks forward to growth and success in its spring 2013 season. As a member of the reputed New England Interscholastic Rowing Association (NEIRA), the team has quickly gained speed on its opponents over the past three seasons. With new equipment and extensive support from parents and alumni, the team will no doubt reach new heights this spring.

The boys’ team races local prep school opponents at its home course in Lakeville, CT, where its own boathouse provides the only traffic on the lake. Within the league, the four Berkshire varsity fours compete, traveling to race at sites in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The fours’ seasons culminate at the NEIRA Championships on Lake Quinsigamond in late May.  The team begins its season over Spring Break with a training trip to Tampa, FL, where boys re-acquaint themselves with the sport and build team cohesion. This broad program has allowed recent rowers and coxswains recruitment at Division I and Division III programs such as George Washington University, Boston University, Bates College, and Northwestern University.
