On the road on Wednesday afternoon, the Bears brought back a win over Taft. Our opponents presented an athletic team with strengths that challenged our girls at every point. Berkshire came out of the doubles matches down 1-2, losing #2 and #3 doubles but winning #1, Clementina Davila and Michaelann Denton, 8-3. The singles matches marked another challenge for the Bears; long rallies with great mental intensity. #1 defeated her opponent with precise placement and strong serves. Although defeated, our #4 and #6 completed solid matches. While #2, #3 and #5 won their matches, their patience and confidence brought the match to a successful close. Final tally: Berkshire 5 – Taft 4. Berkshire travels to Loomis Chaffee on Saturday.
