Softball - Girls Varsity
Berkshire's softball team has established itself as a strong and continually improving program over the last few years. The team competes in the Western New England Prep Softball Association (WNEPSA) — founded by former Berkshire softball coach Bill Gulotta — and plays a very competitive schedule against many strong Class A programs including Taft, Westminster and Suffield.
The softball program aims to build good teammates on and off the field, emphasizing sportsmanship, competition and hard work. The coaches look to create an atmosphere of continual improvement, both as a team and within individual players. In addition, Berkshire's softball field boasts one of the best views in New England, sitting atop a hill on the south side of campus overlooking the mountains. The field was completed in 2007, and two years later, in 2009, Berkshire opened a state-of-the-art multipurpose athletic center featuring a weight room, cardio machines, and an outstanding athletic training facility.
