Berkshire hosted division rival Millbrook for its home opener on a gusty Wednesday afternoon.
The Bears jumped out to a early lead in the first, taking advantage of some walks. Cyrus Rothwell-Ferraris '14 started the scoring by doubling to left to bring home Isiah Nunez '14 and Nate Summers '14 who were both in the mix all game. Brian Rodriguez '16 also had a big hit in the third with two outs to drive in two more runs for the Bears and bring the lead to five. Rodriguez had a fine day at the plate, finishing with two hits and four RBIs. Spencer Cookson '15 came off the bench to single in two runs late in the game to give the Bears more insurance. Will Aldam '14 had his second start on the mound for the Bears and pitched an outstanding game to earn the win. Aldam struck out ten on the day and kept Millbrook's offense to one hit in his 5.2 innings of work. The Bears will now prepare to head to Suffield on Saturday for an important league matchup.
