Date: May 6, 2013

Score:14 - 6

Event Recap:

Kyle Kobis ’13 and Isaiah Nunez ’14 led the charge offensively, while hurlers Will Aldam ’14 and Ian Rasmussen ’14 each had solid performances as the Bears won 14-6 over Williston on Monday.

Aldam let up two earned runs in his five innings of work, getting out of a jam in the second inning with three of his five K’s on the day; the win marked his fifth of the season. Rasmussen gave up three when he entered in the sixth, but found his groove in the final inning when he induced two fly balls and struck a batter out to seal the win.

The Bears came out of the gates fast at the plate. With two outs in the first, Kobis his a double, and after Ryan Summers ’13 was hit by a pitch, Nunez hit a three-run homerun to put Berkshire on the board. Kobis and Jesse Hahn ’13 helped at three more runs in the third on their respective base hits, and in the following inning three more runs were added off the bats of Kobis and Nunez yet again. A big rally in the sixth settled the issue for the Bears, as Kobis, Nunez, Nate Summers ’14 and Adam Tracey ’14 all had base-knocks, driving in five runs.

The Bears will take on division opponent Canterbury on Wednesday.
