The Bears couldn’t keep their hot streak at the plate this weekend when they faced a strong Suffield team. The Tigers blanked the Bears 6-0 with a combination of great pitching and opportune hitting.
Brian Rodriguez ’16 took the mound for Berkshire and kept Suffield scoreless in the first two frames. Solid defense led by captain Ryan Summers ’13 helped keep the Tigers at bay. Isaiah Nunez ’14, Nate Summers ’14, and Jesse Hahn ’13 all had put outs in the early goings.
In the third, a two-out double by Moore scored Suffield’s first two runs, and in the fourth Turer doubled and later scored on a passed ball to make the score 3-0. Will Aldam ‘14 came into relieve Rodriguez and pitched well, only giving up one run in his two and a third innings of work. Jackson Aldam ’14 gave up two runs in the seventh, and despite a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh, the Bears couldn’t rally in the final frame. The boys look to bounce back against Canterbury on Wednesday.
