Baseball - Boys Varsity vs. Cheshire Academy

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 6, 2013

Score:10 - 0

Event Recap:

The Bears bounced back against Cheshire Academy, with Kyle Kobis ’13 pitching lights out, notching nine strikeouts in the 10-0 victory over the Fighting Cats.

Berkshire struck quickly in the first, with Ryan Summers ’13 driving a run across home and Isaiah Nunez ’14 following suit with a sacrifice fly. Both teams’ bats stayed silent until the forth, when Berkshire padded their lead on a Kobis single that scored Brian Gerstenfeld ’14 to make the game a 3-0 affair.

In the following inning, Berkshire’s bats stayed hot. Nunez scored Summers again on a basehit single, and after a string of walks that scored Gerstenfeld for his second run, Kobis helped himself again by clearing the bases and adding three more to the tally. The Bears would score one more in the sixth when Jesse Hahn ’13 put one in play to score Nunez.

The Bears will look to double their win total on Wednesday at Millbrook.
