On an absolutely picture-perfect fall day, the Bears took to their home field to face a very talented and very deep Taft team. We knew we had our work cut out for us, but hoped we could muster up our perfect game to snatch this one away from a Class A powerhouse. However, it was simply not our day. Taft played beautiful field hockey, making nice connections all over the field. Our defense was sharp, but Taft's offense was more sharp. Taft went on the board early with a goal ten minutes in the game by Grace Lyman. They added to their lead with nearly four minutes remaining in the first half on a goal by Rachael Alberti. Alberti scored again just seconds into the second half. Hope Tierney finished the scoring with just over eleven minutes to play in the game. Emily Czajkowski '15 came up big once again with 9 saves. Alli Sugar '16 made a beautiful stick save on the goal line in the second half of the game. Though we continue to struggle to play as a team for 60 minutes, we are showing signs of pulling together and wanting to work harder for the win. Players left the field hungry for a win and looking forward to playing Suffield Saturday in front of a Parents' Weekend crowd.
