Field Hockey - Girls Junior Varsity vs. Suffield Academy

Event Type: Regular

Date: October 12, 2013

Score:Berkshire 4 - Suffield 0

Event Recap:

The Junior Varsity Field Hockey team rose to 4-2-2 with a 4-0 win over Suffield as the Bears wrapped up a three game home stint over Parents’ Weekend. Bringing her season total thus far to eleven, Maddie Beitler ‘17 scored all four tallies for the second consecutive game, while first-time goalie Hannah Honan ‘15 recorded one save for a shutout performance.

Spreading the scoring evenly throughout play, Beitler netted two goals in each half of the fifty minute game, unassisted on three, and with help from Maggie Mori ‘16 with 16:47 left to play. Once again demonstrating a calm and focused style, the Bears controlled the ball and kept play predominantly on the attacking side of the field. With only one penalty corner to defend, Berkshire protected their net by playing carefully in the circle and playing defensively all over the field. Lindsy Dario ‘16 nearly scored on three separate occasions, while Reilly Kennedy ‘15 and Arwen Neski ‘15 played solid games in the middle of the field.

The team heads back to the road with an away game at Rumsey, and plays five of their final six away from the mountain.
