The Bears recovered from a difficult midweek game in solid fashion with a 4-0 win on Saturday at the Williston Northampton School. After two practices focused on communication, spreading the field, and being aggressive to the ball, Berkshire began the game with fire, opening up the scoring less than four minutes into the game. Moving the ball with precision, Hattie Waldron '13 drove the ball to Hannah Honan '15 at the post, who swept the ball across the net to Olivia Smith '14 for a redirect past the Williston goaltender. After just another four minutes of play, the Bears completed their most impressive play thus far in the season. A penalty corner was called against Berkshire, but Serena Menges '14 was able to shut down the Williston attack before it could get started. Christina Cohen '13 nabbed the ball in the circle and sent it zipping past Williston up the middle of of the field to midfielder Arwen Neski '15, who expertly swept the ball out to Renee Dreher '15 on the left wing. Dreher quickly moved the ball ahead to Honan, who carried the ball into the circle before passing to Waldron in the slot. Waldron scored on a rebound, her fifth tally of the season. To close out the already impressive half, Emmi Graebner '14 took a free hit from outside the circle, driving the ball past Williston and through to Waldron, who once again connected with Honan, bringing the score to 3-0 with only 40 seconds remaining.
