Field Hockey - Girls Junior Varsity vs. The Hotchkiss School

Event Type: Regular

Date: October 3, 2012

Score:0 -7

Event Recap:

The Bears fell to Hotchkiss in a frustrating 7-0 home game, bringing their record to 2-3. From the outset, Berkshire struggled to play aggressively against the perennial powerhouse, allowing the Bearcats to control the field in Berkshire's defensive zone. Goaltender Addie Bullock '14 held off the first four shots on net, but Hotchkiss was able to convert on rebound for their only goal of the half. After a time-out, Berkshire picked up the pace and was able to keep the ball away from their net for most of the half.

In the second half of play, the Bears once again had difficulty keeping up a solid momentum, and Hotckiss took advantage with two quick goals.  With seventeen minutes to play, Berkshire's defense broke down, and Bullock was unable to fend off the Hotchkiss attack. Despite the score, several Bears played solid games, with Renee Dreher '15, Ivey Muller '16, and Arwen Neski '15 playing nearly every minute. Eiza McKenna '16 made two big defensive plays as the clock wound down, protecting Bullock from further abuse, and middies Alexis Rivera '16 and Michelle Chang '15 played well in the midfield for the final fifteen minutes of play.

The Bears travel to Williston on Saturday for a 4:30 game.
