Event Recap:

The Junior Varsity Field Hockey squad bested Millbrook 4-0 in the Bears' first home game of the season. With rain clouds threatening just over the mountain, the girls hustled from the get-go, netting their first tally just four minutes into the game. Olivia Smith '14 tipped in a cross pass from Captain Hattie Waldron '13 and the ball sailed past the Millbrook net-minder before she had time to react. Moving the ball well on the inside, Hannah Honan '15 set up one shot after another, creating opportunities from the left wing throughout the game. Honan and Waldron connected with fifteen minutes remaining the half for a Waldron tally, her third of the season in as many games. As the Bears continued to dominate in their offensive end, Colorado native Renee Dreher '15 snuck past Millbrook defenders with her newly acquired right-hand stick handling skills (she's a lefty on the rink!) to hammer home one more goal for the Green and Grey, bringing the first half to a 3-0 game.

In the second half, six fresh Bears were able to take the field at the start with the new skills and confidence ready to show off. Faye Downes '15 led in the center, charging the ball up the field with her ever impressive speed as the German duo of Emmi Graebner and Julia Hengstman worked the left side line. With help from Carrie Babigian '16 and Alexis Rivera '16 in the midfield, Graebner put one more goal past Millbrook to close out the score at 4-0.

Throughout the game, the back-field took care of business, holding the Mustangs to just two shots on tender Addie Bullock '14. The Bears take on Kent at home on Saturday at 4:30.
