The Bears were on the road today for their season opener against the Trinity Pawling Pride. It was a beautiful day for a football game, sunny skies and temperatures in the low-70s. Berkshire got off to a good start when Djetry Joseph came up with an interception from the cornerback position that he returned 50+ yards to the TP three yard line. Running back Ethan Labi was able to punch it into the end zone for the first score of the game (and the season) on a crucial fourth and goal conversion.
The Bears performed admirably throughout the day in what was for many of them, their first game action. Turnovers plagued the offense, but experience was gained by all. TP would go on to score the remainder of the points in the game with the final being 18-6, but it was a day in which everyone learned some valuable lessons and our group will be stronger for it. The Bears will be back in action next Wednesday at home against the Canterbury Saints.
