Event Recap: With a promise of a coach bus and a stop at McDonald's, the Bears traveled the great distance to Mt. Everett--approximate 4 miles-- to take on the Eagles. Most of the match was evenly played. Notably, Sam Rusoff played a consistent game at outside full back. He made several key stops that would have led to break-away opportunities for the Eagles. Much of the first half was played in the midfield, with neither team establishing a sustained offense. Gray Riatti, along with Jack Gustavson, played a particularly strong game at the midfield. Both applied constant pressure on the ball and distributed the ball well to the wings. It wasn't until the second half that Son Nguyen scored the match's only goal. In the goalie's box, Son, with some quick footwork, was able to find some room to squeeze a shot in the bottom left corner. For our Parents' Weekend, the Bears look to take on the Saints of Canterbury. |
