Event Recap:

The Berkshire football team earned its first victory of season on Parents Weekend, beating the Hopkins Hilltoppers by a score of 34 - 13. The Bears opened the game with a long kick return from Joe McBride (‘14), and then proceeded to put together a nice drive which was capped off by a short Lavante Wiggins’ touchdown run. Berkshire would score three more times in the first half, all at the hands of senior quarterback Regan Haas (‘14). Haas rushed for a touchdown and threw two more to Cyrus Rothwell-Ferraris (‘14). The team played hard, swarming defense in the first half, led by TJ Adams (‘14), Grayson Keith (‘15), and Connor Waldron (‘16), and led 27-7 at the half.

Hopkins opened the second half with a long touchdown drive, and Berkshire immediately responded with a touchdown from Lavante Wiggins to close out the scoring for the day. The Bears’ ran the ball well with different ball carriers, including Wiggins, Haas, McBride, Peter Dunn (‘15), and Brendan Moloy (‘15). The Bears’ offensive and defensive lines were effective in controlling Hopkins all afternoon. Terryl Wilson (‘16), Jay Allen (‘15) and Eric Smith (‘14) all contributed great defensive plays in the second half. Lewis Grassie (‘16) was great in the kicking game.

The Bears next travel to Kent, Connecticut for a Friday night (10/18) game against the Lions of Kent School at 7PM.
