Football - Boys Varsity vs. The Hotchkiss School

Event Type: Regular

Date: September 21, 2013

Event Recap:

The Berkshire Bears opened the season with a loss under the lights at home, 28-24, to the Hotchkiss Bearcats. Regan Haas ('14) orchestrated the offense while LaVante Wiggins ('14) led the Bears on the ground. Defensively the Bears front, led by TJ Adams ('14), Ben Akim ('14), and Grayson Keith ('15) banded together to stop the Bearcats with help from Connor Waldron ('16). Eric Smith ('14), Charlie Erdman ('16), and Terryl Wilson ('16) were all standout performers on special teams.

The Bears went down early and battled back in the fourth quarter with a chance for a game-winning drive. A Hotchkiss interception ultimately thwarted that drive and ended the game.

The Bears travel to Avon Old Farms next Saturday (9/28) to take on the Winged Beavers.
