Football - Boys Varsity vs. Hotchkiss
Event Type: Regular
Advantage:Away
Date: October 19, 2012
Result:Loss
Score:6 - 20
Event Recap:

The Berkshire Bears traveled just down the road to Lakeville, CT to take on the Hotchkiss Bearcats in hopes of spoiling their Parents' Weekend. A tough start put the Bears in a 7-0 hole early on and the Berkshire offense failed to put a drive together to generate any points. A plethora of injuries early on in the game forced the Bears to call their bench and request the services of some young players. John McAllister '15 and Peter Sweeney '15 saw their first significant time on varsity, both filling in at corner and wide receiver. The defense battled to the final whistle yet again, shutting Hotchkiss out in the second half and even providing the only points of the game for the Bears. Late in the fourth quarter, Mike Allen '13 intercepted a pass (his third INT in two games) and went 101 yards the other way for the score.  The never quit attitude of the Berkshire Bears was on full display as they battled to the final whistle with a depleted roster. The Bears will enjoy a much needed bye-week before getting back in action when they take on the Rhinos of Taft.
