The Berkshire Bears battled with perennial power Kent, suffering a 47-6 defeat. The Bears showed up to play from the opening whistle and had the raucous Kent crowd on their edge of their seat for the entire first quarter. The defense bent but would not break until late in the opening stanza quarter, keeping Berkshire in the game, as the score at the end of the first was 7-0 Kent. Eventually, Kent was able to wear down the Bears en-route to a 27-0 halftime lead. The lone bright spot on offense came on a late fourth quarter touchdown run by Robert Fiamengo '13 to give Berkshire their only points of the night. Josh Ibanez '13 took advantage of his first action on the defensive side of the ball, wreaking havoc in the backfield on numerous plays.
The upset-minded Bears will host the Knights of Salisbury under the lights next Saturday night.
