Football Inquiry Form
The Berkshire football team competes in the Erickson League (Class A), arguably one of the most competitive leagues in all of New England. The rigorous schedule provides our players with an opportunity to constantly test themselves. Success requires focus and determination, and the hard work required of our football players goes hand in hand with the mission of Berkshire School as a whole.
The high level of competition also affords our college-bound athletes the chance to prove their ability to coaches at the next level. Berkshire graduates go on each year to play at all levels of college football. By combining academic and athletic rigor, Berkshire provides an ideal environment for those hoping to play college football. More importantly, however, the ideals fostered by the pursuit of academic and athletic excellence help prepare our football players for life after college as well.
The 2013 season was a rebuilding year which saw many younger players getting varsity experience on both sides of the ball. Despite a losing record, the team continued to play competitive ball and improve throughout the season. The contributions of Sixth Formers, Marquis Carr '13 and Michael Allen '13, were key to the development of our younger players.
This season, we're looking to continue our improvement with some key new players coming into the program from all parts of the country. Team captains, Adams, Moloy and Haas bring multiple years of experience, and we're counting on their leadership as we move forward into Berkshire football's next phase.
