Cross Country - Girls Varsity
vs. Canterbury School
|Date:||October 20, 2012|
Berkshire Girls Cross Country hosted Canterbury for Parent’s Weekend. The team ran one of their best races even though they were not able to pull off a victory. The girls ran with tremendous heart in large part due to the amazing encouragement and support from Berkshire parents, family, friends, and alumni on such a festive weekend. Tara Blundell ’14 was first across the finish line with her best performance of the season! Olivia Silverman ’15 a rookie from New Canaan, CT was unstoppable and had the best performance of her season as well. In fact, her hard work led to a second place finish overall and the title of “Most Improved” for this week. Co-captain Julia Slyer ’14 helped score big points for the Bears with her strong finish. She is always a consistent force to be reckoned with. Karolin Kreke ’13 from Germany ran with tremendous conviction also pulling off one of the greatest performances of the season. Last but certainly not least, Kennedy Alvarez ‘14 and Juliet Duplessie ’16 made their debut today for the Berkshire Bears. Their times were impressive as they ran with great intensity and heart. Win or not, “this little engine that could” continues to build momentum and strength. There is no doubt that this energy will persist given the strength of character, energy, and spirit of this team.
Way to go Bears! Score: Canterbury 28, Berkshire 31.
