Cross Country - Boys Varsity vs. Canterbury School

Event Type: Regular

Event Recap:

On a day that we were missing two of our top five runners the boys showed the character that marks this team.  Not one Canterbury person was told anything regarding the missing harriers for we never make excuses.  With sportsmanship and toughness the Bears competed hard on a spectacularly beautiful day under the mountain, congratulated the victors, and went home with the pride of having done their best.  I even had to change the course at the last minute due to a dangerous spot on the trail caused by the rain on Friday and early Saturday, but the kids just said "fine" and raced.  Sam Sabin once again finished first for Berkshire running a strong race, finishing 4th out of 35 runners, and he was followed by Sasha Podolsky, Derrick Burt, Cody Turner, James Donovan, Wes Lickus, and Nate MacKenzie who scored in the varsity race.  I greatly appreciated the support from the parents who came with all kinds of Fall treats, but, more importantly, who came with the pride of watching their sons run their best.
