Soccer - Girls Varsity
vs. Kingswood Oxford
|Date:||October 30, 2013|
|Score:||Berkshire 1 - Kingswood Oxford 3|
The Berkshire Bears hosted Kingswood Oxford on Wednesday October 30th. Throughout the first half of the match the Bears played some beautiful minutes of soccer. The passing was some of the best of the season, not to mention the defending led by senior, Hannah Cooke. The only area lacking throughout the first half was the Bears’ ability to capitalize in front of the KO net and the half ended in a scoreless tie of 0-0.
The second half of the match proved to be drastically different. KO came out strong and passionate. With the sun at their backs, KO was able to send a simple ball past Berkshire keeper, Camryn Biasin to net the first goal of the game. As KO’s momentum began to build, and the Bears began to slip into a more defensive position, they were not able to generate a quick comeback. Instead, not long after the first, KO was able to land their second goal of the match. With the Bears beginning to realize that the game was slowly slipping away, the level up play was turned up. Some more offence was created thanks to some great clears from full-back, Allie Brazo ‘14. However, in a moment of miscommunication in the Bears’ back half, KO was able to capitalize yet again to net their third goal of the match. As the Bears only became more fired up, and the ball was passionately worked up the field, senior forward, Keunna Dill was able to net the Bears’ a terrific goal in the last minutes of play.
