The Bears travelled down to Lakevile, CT to face the Hotchkiss Bearcats on Wednesday. From kickoff, both teams battled hard and played with passion right up until the final whistle. Berkshire’s defense, led by Hannah Cook ‘14 was nearly unbreakable. Any shot on goal was quickly scooped up and played out nicely by Berkshire keeper, Camryn Biasin ‘14. With a lot of work from the wingers, the Bears were able to send some near perfect balls up the field for striker, Keunna Dill ‘14. Controlling much of the play in the middle, Lucy Hollister ‘15 was able to not only steal the ball, but was also able to set the Bears up for some proactive plays in the Hotchkiss half.
By the start of the second half, with a 0-0 score, the Bears were playing with even more heart and more drive than ever before. However, late in the game, with only 9 minutes left in the match, the Bearcats were able to capitalize on a bouncing ball in front of the Berkshire net to make the game 1-0. Although the Bears fought hard for the remaining minutes of play, they were not able to generate a goal.
Next game will be against The Williston Northampton School Wildcats at home at 3:15!
