Event Recap:

Hosting an unbeaten team from Williston Northampton, the Bears knew they would need be at their best if they were to maintain their unbeaten run.  Berkshire opened the match well and controlled much of the play though the visitors were able to threaten long at times. Berkshire's back line of Matt Renzi '13, Brandon Allen '13, Nate Summers '14, and Noah Sinkoff '13 held strong and were able to fend off the visitors.  Tanner Tomasi '13 played tough defense and distributed the ball well from the middle.  Jack Harrison '15, Zeiko Lewis '13, Tony Amolo '13, Haden Cosman '13, and Luis Echeverria '13 presented a formidable attacking core that was able to create several early chance.  However, it wasn't until the 28th minute until the 0-0 deadlock was brokent.  Zeiko Lewis '13 delivered a perfect pass to Jack Harrison '15 who needed only one touch to hammer in the opening goal.  Just four minutes later Berkshire struck again, but this time it was Harrison '15 finding Lewis '13.  The Bears maintained possession and continued to press Williston into their own half. The third goal for Berkshire came when Jack Harrison '15 beat his man on the outside cut in and hammered a shot on target, but the ball was redirected when it glanced off one of Williston's players, leaving the keeper only able to watch as the ball slipped into the back of the net.

Up 3-0 at the start of the second half, the Bears were able to get some reserves out on the field for quality playing time against a very good opponent.  With the changes, Williston's starting group was able to put the pressure back on Berkshire for much of the second half.  It seemed that Berkshire's reserves were not fully ready for this level of competition though they managed to keep the game tight. One of the highlights on the day was the play of Lou Scaglione '13 who played very well at right back during the second half.  It wasn't until there the 82nd minute that another goal would be scored, and this time it was Williston's Mark Richards who made a superb individual effort beating two men and deftly chipping Sam Clougher '13 who could do nothing. It was a great finish.  That was the last goal of the day, so the score finished 3-1 in favor of the home side.
