Architects Present Gift to Berkshire

At Wednesday’s All-School assembly, architects Mark Simon and Mark Herter of Centerbrook Architects and Planners, which designed the Bellas/Dixon Math and Science Center at Berkshire School, presented students and faculty with a gift; a podium made out of reclaimed wood from the former Memorial Hall.

The chestnut podium will be housed in Crawford Lecture Hall.

“It is something we are tremendously, tremendously proud of,” Simon said of the building project which is LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and honors Berkshire’s longstanding commitment to sustainability.

“It really is one of our favorite all-time buildings that we’ve worked on. This is a really great school, so it’s an honor,” added Simon.
