Dan Mead and Sally Eagle are residents of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, but they travel extensively around the world, creating powerful images of landscapes, wildlife and diverse cultures. They take particular delight in sharing their photography with college and high school students throughout Northeast. Through their work, Mead and Eagle hope to encourage a dialogue among their audiences, perhaps about photography, or art, or global studies, or even environmental concerns.
The exhibit, Earth Designs, focuses on the intricate and ever changing beauty of our planet. Jennifer Sahn, editor of Orion magazine, has written that “Earth Designs is a photographic profile of an elegant and endlessly fascinating Earth. It is a dynamic and alluring convergence of shapes and colors, light and shadow. But more than anything it is a love poem: to a planet worthy of awe, wonder, and whatever other faculties might help us appreciate how truly special it is.”
Dan Mead and Sally Eagle have exhibited their work at the Smithsonian Museum, the Berkshire Museum and on BBC Television. In addition, they have shared their photography at many independent schools, including Choate Rosemary Hall, Northfield Mount Hermon, Millbrook School, Taft School, Miss Porter’s and Princeton Day School.
