Jon came to Berkshire from Western Reserve Academy where he worked as an English teacher, coach, and dorm parent for three years. Prior to his career in Ohio, Jon worked for 4 years at the Blue Ridge School in a similar capacity. He was drawn to Berkshire by the strong leadership, sense of purpose he noticed in the students, and the stunning natural setting.
Jon is a soccer enthusiast and has had tremendous success, both as a player and a coach. After graduating from Holderness School, he went on to Kenyon College where he studied history and captained the soccer team. Ever since college, Jon has been coaching soccer and at Berkshire he has led his team to the New England Prep School Soccer Tournament for the past three years. Beyond the formal season, Jon organizes soccer-related trips during the summer to places like England, Spain, Germany, and Zambia. He believes that exposing his players to other cultures through the universal language of soccer will dramatically enhance their global perspective.
In addition to his role in admissions as Director of Multicultural Student Recruitment, Jon advises students and lives in MacMillan House with his wife, Martina. Martina teaches Spanish, coaches tennis, and is a KCL Learning Specialist. The Moodeys have one son, Noah, and enjoy outdoor activities like cycling, hiking, camping, and swimming. Every summer, they travel to Martina’s homeland, Sweden, and to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
