Came to Berkshire: 2000

Where does your passion for teaching come from? My passion for teaching comes from being able to immerse myself in something I love, Art, all day long, every day. It’s invigorating, if also exhausting,  to constantly watch creativity unfold.

What excites you the most about teaching at Berkshire? Our students are genuinely curious and willing to experiment and try new things.

How do you see yourself preparing the students for school and for life? While some of our graduates go on to art school or a career in the arts, most use their Berkshire experience in a more subtly way, to foster their general creativity and self-expression. Hopefully, they learn to embrace the arts in a way that will enrich their lives: as audiences, as patrons, as critics, and even as amateur hobbyists.

What is your favorite tradition at Berkshire? The “Gauntlet”, where we celebrate departing senior faculty after they teach their last class!
